László Mandur photographer, engineer and economist. He was born in 1958 in Csömör, a village neighbouring Budapest. He’s been consciosly photographing the world since he was fourteen. He acquired his vision and technical knowledge from well known artistic photographers and literature. His high-level descriptive geometric and architectural drawing skills acquired during his studies in civil engineering is consciously used during the imaging process, the development of compositions. He won awards at local and national and photo competitions in his youth mainly for portraits and photographs of the city. Since the early 90s his pictures and photoreportage have appeared in newspapers, magazines, theatre program guides, on book covers and concert DVDs. Prints of his photos are kept in several domestic and international public and private collections eg. the Hungarian National Museum, the Hungarian Museum of Photography, Pier Luigi Gibelli Collection (Italy), Museo Regional de Magellanes (Chile) among others. His unique series of portraits of Hungarian photorepoters is part of the archives of the Hungarian News Agency. His work has been exhibited at several individual and collective shows. His first photo album, a comic depicting the life of Döröske, a small village in Vas County, appeared in the spring of 2011. He is member of the Hungarian Photographers’ Association. He’s Commander of the Ordre national du Mérite.
